The Effects Of COVID-19 On Local Business

Every business in the world has felt the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, but small, local businesses have been disproportionately affected.

Over 61% of local businesses surveyed have been negatively impacted by the pandemic. Temporary closures, lay-offs, asset sales, and accessing government-led financial assistance are just a few of the many challenges they have faced over the past year.

Businesses Are Adopting Technology

However, local businesses are adapting quickly to the changes in their local markets and business climates by adopting new technology solutions.

In fact, 72% of responding local businesses have adopted new digital tools and solutions since
the start of the pandemic. 

On top of that, 92% have websites and 55% of those sites are equipped with e-commerce capabilities, appointment scheduling software, or both.

41% of respondents with websites report launching or significantly improving their sites since the start of the pandemic.

Local businesses don’t have to combat these new and evolving challenges, alone.
